We are a group of farmers and nature lovers who tend the land to produce tasty, healthy food, free from pesticides and nitrates. All this at a fair price for both the farmer and the consumer.
We live and work in the municipality of Rairiz de Veiga, in a small mountain hamlet in the south of Ourense called Carballal. This was the only municipality in the Limia region to escape the negative effects of land consolidation,
thanks to the environmentalists’ campaign. As a result, it still preserves
a valuable traditional agricultural system that is ideal for
organic farming.
Daiquí is a sustainable rural project that began in 1996, spearheaded by activists from the M.E.L. (Limia Environmental Movement),
with the aim of demonstrating that the traditional Galician agricultural system
is a highly valuable heritage. This system, if properly developed,
can perfectly fulfil the functions that a modern country expects from its rural areas:
productive, ecological, landscape-related, recreational functions, etc.

The objectives on which Daiquí was founded:
(Veiga, Carballo da Rocha, etc.)
- To preserve the traditional agricultural system
along with the landscape associated with it. - To stem the exodus from the countryside by creating
jobs. - To enhance the status of the farming profession,
in line with its importance within society. - To conserve and promote the variety of native seeds.
- To contribute to the preservation of
basic natural resources: water, soil and air.
